The FVCOM numerical model is applied to the Freeport Waste Water Treatment Plant in Haraseeket River, in Casco Bay, Maine. A model dye tracer at the outflow pipe is used to track the effluent from the treatment plant into the bay. The model dye is injected into the outflow pipe uniformly during May 13-15, 2003. The intent is to determine a zone around the outflow pipe, outside of which commercial shellfishing would be permitted.
