Tide-generated dye release_ 8 days A model dye was released at the mouth of the Kennebec River and tracked for 8 days with only tidal forcing. After 4 days, the dye patch moves to a location 4 km south of Cape Small and stays there.
Tide-Wind-generated dye release_8days A model dye was released at the mouth of the Kennebec River and tracked for 8 days with tidal forcing and wind forcing that was recorded at the GOMOOS buoy for March 7-14, 2005. After 16 hours, the patch arrives at a location 1 km south of Cape Small, and continues to disperse throughout the eastern portion of Casco Bay.
Kennebec-River-surface-salinity-8days The surface salinity of the Kennebec surface plume works its way around  Cape Small during the period May 4-11, 2005 during a northeaster which occured May 5-7. The slider on the movie shows the day of the month.
   Around May 6, there is a strong influx of fresher water moving around Cape Small and into eastern Casco Bay. The single black contour shows the 29.9psu salinity envelope for reference.
