The FVCOM numerical model is applied to the Yarmouth Waste Water Treatment Plant on the Royal River, in Casco Bay, Maine. A model dye tracer at the outflow pipe is used to track the effluent from the treatment plant into the bay. The model dye is injected into the outflow pipe uniformly during May 24-31, 2010. The intent is to determine a zone around the outflow pipe, outside of which commercial shellfishing would be permitted or condionally approved.
